God’s Multiplication…

God is our provider. We all need to come to a place where we understand that our skills, abilities, and talents are gifted by our Creator. He made each individual, just that, individual. We are to use our skills, abilities and talents for His Glory. Well we have lost our Creator in our zeal to be admired for these gifts. We have no skills, abilities and talents without the Creator. Infact we have no breath without the Creator.

So who gets the credit for what comes from the toil of my hands, mind, heart? Why Father God gets the Glory.

You see when we understand this, when we realize that all we have is from Him. When we understand that He has provided what we hold in our hands, we are part of the way to the multiplication. You wonder what it is I’m getting at?

We work hard, each day. We toil on the job and reap a check. Often, we see this check, and wonder what is this all about? I struggle and someone else gets rich. We even often refer to our work in  more negative light. ” A day late and a dollar short”, “Another day in the salt mines” and the like. We get discouraged.

I’d like to redirect your view of your job, profession, trade or career. God gifted you with a unique skill to perform to prosper yourself. He has given you what you need to be rich and wealthy. Are you using it? Are you walking in your marketplace calling, we all have one, or two. If you are not, you are refusing a gift from God.

If you are, are you satisfied? Is your “work” prospering you and yours? If its not, let me show you something.

I worked in the same profession for almost twenty years, and I was discouraged and done. However, I did not think that I was able to do anything else. I through the “worlds” caution to the wind, and asked God to end this career of mine. I steadfastly waited for His voice. Each time I felt at my wits end, I would thanked Him and ask if it was time. Finally the approval to end it came.  That approval began a most frightening few years.

I stayed as thankful as frustration and fear could allow. I thanked Him for each time the finances worked, while I worked for short periods of time, and then did not. While I worked part time, jobs that were not secure. This was a difficult period for my whole family. Fortunately I was aware of who my provider was! My husband was as well, however, as any good Christian wife will tell you, this is an area that is tough for our Godly husbands to grasp. Praise God, my husband has received the revelation of God the Provider.

I blessed what He provided for my family and I. I thanked Him that I could make a decent meal out of rice, tomatoes and some bacon. I thanked Him that I was a frugal, coupon shopper. I thanked Him that I grew up poor and was conditioned to handle times of lack.

What I did wrong? Yes, I missed it for a while. I continued to insist that God had our finances in His hands (which of course He  did), to my wavering husband. I continually pointed out his lack of faith and his poverty mentality. After saying the prayer in the paragraph above, I clearly hear Father God’s voice.

“What about you A.? Your prayer is one of a poverty mentality, where is your faith? Do you believe it My will that My daughter and her family eat pot luck meals, that they have inferior staples instead of the very best?” Oh! How humbling that voice was. I wasn’t really blessing what He had provided, I was telling Him that I could tolerate what “little” there was in His provision with that prayer! Humbling, I must reiterate. There was no true gratitude in that prayer.

You see we must truely bless what is in our hand, and then God will multiply it! Had my prayer been one saying “Thank You Father for your provision today, and for the blessing that you have for us tomorrow.” I would have been telling Him that I knew that He and He alone provided, not my skill at meal making or my frugal ways, but by His hand alone!

Bless what you have…watch how He multiplies it. You will stand amazed at His Gracious and Abundant nature.

Luke 16:10       He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
