Revelation Through a Devotional 2

The Initiative against Depression (what awesome revelation!)

Are you prone to depression like many of us are? Here is the answer , right from the Word of God! Simple and complete direction.

Arise and Eat.  1Kings19:5

This is the story of Elijah running from Jezabel ( she’s threatened to kill him). After running for a time Elijah sat down and asked God to let him die. He had had enough! He slept and an angel came to him and said “Arise and Eat”, no further instruction was given, however, there was food aplenty, so he ate and slept again. The angel returned to remind him to eat again, because his journey would be too much for him if he didn’t. He would be needing the strength in the nourishment of the food.

If there were no capacity for depression, then there would be no capacity for joy.

Things are going to happen in life that cause depression. Life moves along, leaving things aside and behind, parts of us, our lives, that we mourn. This is depression. The answer?

Arise and eat. Get up and live your life. Do the next right thing. When the Spirit of God comes to give us direction in our lives, they are simple to follow directions. He will guide us to do the ordinary to uplift us ,out of our mire. As we do these simply ordinary things in obedience, we find God in them. This inspiration comes against and conquers the depression.

The cures of the world to overcome depression often have side effects. These side effects often deepen or compound upon the depression. The medications are often of the dependency type. Now, no one here is telling anyone not to go to a doctor and follow his directions, if they feel this is necessary. I did say do the next Right Thing. Consult your physician for proper care.

” but if the Spirit of God makes us feel intuitively that we must do the thing, and we do it, the depression is gone. Immediately we arise and obey, we enter on a higher plane of life.”

Arise and eat.

Feed on the Word of God. Step out in Faith, do those things that you do not feel like doing. Live life, regardless of your down mood.

When you are feeling down, Looking up lets in the light.

Be Blessed.
