Revelation Through a Devotional…
Just a header for this new Page of mine.
In the last few months I realized as the “good” Christian Wife and Mother, I was terrorizing my Boys to deepen their relationships with God by being in the Word more! After frequent rants and lectures to the Boy’s Club here, I hear from the man in my life…Father God!
God speaks to me audibly. Most people He speaks to through His Word, however, there are us Hooligans who are more stubborn and He needs to yell (there in lies the audible part).
This time He whispered in the small still voice…YOu aren’t in My Word either! And boom, REVELATION! I wasn’t in the Word either. I analysed this, in a very human attempt to justify my actions. Humbly I must admit there are no justifications. I apologized to the Boy’s Club and purposed a Devotional Plan. It started with a new and simple devotional book by Joyce Meyer. When I say simple, I mean it. I’ve several, as do all you devotional Christians, of the devotionals that lead you through the Bible in a year with devotionals and workbooks…How does anyone have time for these complicated devotional plans. Much like many dedicated but working Christians, these devotionals are displayed lovingly in the bookcase.
I get up a half hour early (6:30AM) and read my little exerp and pray…then I added the AA devotional Daily Reflections…then I went to the thrift store ( once a week for Bibles and Dictionaries, don’t ask! =} ) and found this wonderfully old devotional from 1935, My Utmost for His Highest… Its amazingly accurate to my life, and oddly, each of the three devotionals follow one another, God is amazing! Three different “authors”, three different time periods, same thoughts…
So on to the Revelations….Here’s hoping that what I got out of these gems, helps others as well.
Be Blessed.
